Gross Revenue Retention Rate
What This Means:
GRR = ((Starting Revenue - Churned Revenue - Contraction Revenue) / Starting Revenue) × 100
Understanding GRR:
- 100% GRR: Perfect retention - no revenue lost
- 90-100% GRR: Excellent retention
- 80-90% GRR: Good retention
- Below 80% GRR: May indicate retention challenges
Note: GRR excludes expansion revenue and cannot exceed 100%. It measures your ability to retain existing revenue.
